The Business Operations Center is focused on resource stewardship and financial/operational optimization, one of the pillars of Patient Care Services (PCS) strategic plan.
We work to create an environment that demonstrate efficiencies and fiscal responsibilities in the delivery of patient- and family- centered care. Guiding by Stanford Medicine’s Integrated Strategic Plan, we work to protect and grow the resources available to support the development of our people, as well as, the advancement of patient care and research. We provide overall leadership, guidance, and coordination of a variety of administrative and management services designed to assure timely and cost-effective deployment of resources needed to support Patient Care Services.

We establish and manage Patient Care Services budget, secure capital funding needs, and manage the administration of PCS specialty funds, in partnership with Stanford Nursing Alumnae leaders. Business Operations Center works closely with the Stanford School of Medicine – Director of Finance Administration (DFA), Stanford Health Care support services (Human Resources, Finance, Revenue Cycle, IT, and Supply Chain), and clinical leaders to fulfill PCS aspirations and strategic priorities.
In addition, we provide day-to-day business operations and management services in the following areas:
Development and Reporting of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Metrics
Finance and Budget Management
Staffing Modeling & Management – FTE, Traveler, and Roster Management
Equipment and Supply Procurement, Acquisition, and Contract Management
Expense and Invoice Management
Uniform/Scrub Management Services
Manage the return/delivery of patient belongings services
Programmatic Support to PCS events/projects
