About the Catheterization Angiography Laboratory
The Cath Angio Lab specializes in adult and pediatric interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, neuroradiology, and interventional radiology. The diagnostic procedures performed in the lab typically use the administration of contrast media for visualization of selective anatomical structures and measurement of pressures and blood flow for determination of vascular integrity.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
The Catheterization Angiography Laboratory at Stanford Health Care performs thousands of procedures annually, many of them on an outpatient basis. The population served by the Cath Angio Lab is inclusive of all age spectrums from the neonate to the elderly patient with congenital heart disease, arteriosclerotic heart disease, valvular disease, arrhythmias, peripheral vascular disease, pulmonary disease, neurovascular disease, osteoporosis, uterine fibroids, liver cancer, and patients needing vascular access, feeding tubes, biliary or nephrostomy drainage tubes.
