Rehabilitation Services
Expertise
Rehabilitation Services provides care to inpatients in the acute care hospital. We also provide care in the outpatient setting.
Our staff of experienced occupational, physical, speech and hand therapists provides care for individuals with varying injuries or illnesses. Our goal is to help return these individuals to their highest level of functioning by integrating our skilled treatment techniques with patient and caregiver education.
Our team of therapists provide Hand Rehabilitation, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy and Speech-Language Pathology for persons with a variety of medical conditions. We specialize in Orthopaedics and Sports Physical Therapy, Neurological Rehabilitation (Occupational, Physical and Speech Therapy), and swallowing function studies.
We also have rehabilitation clinicians with expertise in the Ear, Nose and Throat, Neurosciences, Orthopaedics, and Pain Management Center clinics.
The outpatient Hand and Orthopaedic/Sports Physical Therapy departments are located at the Stanford Outpatient Center in Redwood City. The Hand Rehabilitation department is staffed by Certified Hand Therapists (CHT). The Orthopaedic and Sports Physical Therapy department is staffed by Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialists (OCS) and experienced manual therapists.
The Neurologic Rehabilitation Program is located at the Hospital's Main Campus. It is staffed by Board Certified Neurologic Clinical Specialist (NCS), Occupational Therapy Clinical Specialist, and Senior Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists and Speech-Language Pathologists.
Clinical Trials
Clinical trials are research studies that evaluate a new medical approach, device, drug, or other treatment. As a Stanford Health Care patient, you may have access to the latest, advanced clinical trials.
Open trials refer to studies currently accepting participants. Closed trials are not currently enrolling, but may open in the future.
For Patients
Rehabilitation therapy appointments can be requested through a doctor referral. Please ask your medical provider for a therapy prescription.
PREPARE FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT
- Review the New Patient Letter and Video Swallow Study Patient Letter (if applicable)
- Wear comfortable clothing and plan to arrive 15 minutes before your evaluation appointment
- Bring your insurance card and photo identification
- Bring your insurance authorization letter (if required)
- Bring the following forms (if applicable)
