TRICARE and TriWest

TRICARE is a health care program of the U.S. Department of Defense Military Health Care System. Find out if you're eligible for TRICARE.

In the Western part of the United States, Health Net Federal Services is the administrator for the TRICARE program. This plan is typically referred to as HNFS, TRICARE West, or Health Net TRICARE.

Stanford Health Care Tri-Valley participates in the following health plans:

  • TRICARE and TriWest Prime (HMO)
  • TRICARE and TriWest Standard (PPO/POS)
  • TRICARE for Life/TriWest (Medicare supplement)
TriWest is the third-party adminstrator for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Community Care programs. Veterans traditionally receive care through the VA's network of medical facilities. However there are times when the VA turns to community providers to provide services for their veterans.
 
Stanford Health Care Tri-Valley is in-network with TriWest. All services must be authorized by the VA.
