Here at Stanford, we use a multi-disciplinary approach to diagnosing and treating patients with valvular heart disease. We aim to repair, rather than replace heart valves whenever possible.
The heart, kidneys, and brain communicate through nerves to regulate blood pressure (BP). Overactive signals from these nerves raise BP. Renal denervation reduces these signals by removing nerves from the artery leading to the kidneys.
TAVR, a nonsurgical treatment for aortic stenosis, is now available to more patients at Stanford Health Care. We use a catheter to replace your valve without opening your chest.
